Food, Drinks, and Swimming Pools

Once in a while you and your family (even your friends for that matter) schedule a get together for an afternoon fun at the pool. And what get together isn’t complete without a couple of food and drinks?

Let’s see what you can do to make sure everything runs smoothly:

a. Make sure that the pool is clean and decontaminated using the correct swimming pool chemicals. Make sure that all the swimming pool chemicals and cleaning equipments are properly stored and locked away to prevent any unwanted occurrence. Take into account that swimming pool chemicals are toxic hazards.

b. Set up the chairs and tables at a safe distance from the swimming pool. Serving tables should be positioned at the most convenient and accessible place.

c. Place 2-3 trash bins in the most conspicuous areas.

d. Plastic drinking glasses, utensils, and plates are ideally used. This way you don’t have to worry about anybody breaking something.~You probably wouldn’t want any of your guests to cut their foot on a broken piece of glass.

e. A pool party is one type of party where serving alcoholic drinks is undesirable. Remember the saying don’t drink and drive? It also holds true for swimming – don’t drink and swim. You can add a little kick in the punch if you really have to, but not too much that it can make anybody drunk. In case somebody does get under the influence, regardless of the reason, please do not let that person go for a swim until he|she is totally sober.

f. Make sure that the food being served is appropriately cooked. It is ideal to prepare “delicate” food no less than one hour before it needs to be served. Cold food should remain cold (put it on a tray with ice and only serve as much as can be consumed within 30 minutes or an hour). Food that easily spoils is not recommended for this type of party.~A stomach ache due to food spoilage is not really a great way to end a party..

Family, friends, food, drinks, and swimming – what a great way to spend the day!
